FC 26
FC 26 is a football simulation where players can control real clubs, national teams, and individual footballers in matches and long-term game modes. There is no single story campaign. Instead, players choose between quick matches, Career Mode, Football Ultimate Team, Clubs, and other competitions. Matches are based on passing, dribbling, shooting, defending, set pieces, and tactical positioning, with different gameplay settings available for offline and competitive online play.
Build a Career as a Player or Manager
Career Mode provides the closest thing to a structured campaign. In Manager Career, the player controls a club, manages transfers and finances, develops young players, selects lineups, and adjusts tactics across multiple seasons. Manager Live Challenges add shorter scenarios based on real football situations or alternative objectives. Player Career instead puts the focus on one footballer, allowing the player to develop attributes, choose an Archetype, complete objectives, and progress through a professional career.
Different Ways to Play Football
FC 26 includes several modes with different objectives. Players can:
· play individual matches in Kick Off;
· manage a club through Career Mode;
· develop one footballer in Player Career;
· build a squad in Football Ultimate Team;
· compete in Rivals, Champs, Tournaments, and Live Events;
· create and improve a player in Clubs;
· play Rush matches with smaller teams.
Each mode uses the same basic football controls but changes how teams, progression, and competitions are organized.
Football Ultimate Team focuses on creating a squad from player items and using it in different competitions. Clubs allows players to create their own footballer and join other people in a team, with Archetypes providing different attribute paths and perks. FC 26 also separates gameplay into Competitive and Authentic presets. Competitive is designed mainly for modes such as Ultimate Team and Clubs, while Authentic uses slower and more realistic match behavior in modes such as Career.
Controlling the Match
To play effectively, players need to move the ball between teammates, create space, defend against attacks, and choose the correct type of pass or shot for each situation. Tactical settings can change formations, player roles, and team behavior. There are no traditional numbered levels. Progress depends on the selected mode, whether that means winning trophies in Career, improving an individual player, moving through online competitions, or developing a custom Clubs footballer over the season.
