Shift At Midnight
Shift At Midnight drops players into the eerie setting of a rural 90s gas station, where something strange lurks behind the flickering lights and aisles of snacks. In this online cooperative horror game, players take on the role of overnight clerks who are responsible for running the store while surviving encounters with more than just human customers. What begins as a mundane night shift slowly turns into a test of observation, decision-making, and teamwork as each visitor might be a creature in disguise.
Investigate With Caution
The core mechanic centers around interrogating customers. You can only ask five questions per person, forcing you to choose your words carefully. Each customer presents an ID that must be examined and verified through the store’s outdated computer system. At the same time, you’re expected to study body language and vocal cues to determine whether someone is hiding something. The wrong decision can result in letting a dangerous entity walk free—or worse, turning your back on something that should never have entered. Your survival depends on what you ask, what you miss, and how quickly you act.
What To Expect During The Graveyard Shift
· Limited questions and clues per customer
· Classic 90s atmosphere with CRT screens and analog tools
· Real-time coordination with up to 3 friends in online co-op
· Defend the station by boarding windows and placing traps
· Hidden lore and unsettling encounters
These elements combine into a tight gameplay loop where every shift is different, and panic sets in quickly if mistakes are made.
From Routine To Terror
When a creature gets loose, the tone shifts rapidly from investigation to survival. You and your team must act fast—barricading doors, laying down traps, and hiding in the tight corners of the store. Resources are limited, and coordination is essential. The gas station becomes a puzzle box where every decision matters. While you can brave the horror solo, Shift At Midnight shines in cooperative play, offering shared scares and chaotic teamwork as the group adapts to each new threat.
Shift At Midnight is more than just a horror game—it’s an experience shaped by tension, social deduction, and fast reactions. With a free demo available and a wishlist goal tied to unlocking multiplayer, the project is steadily building a community of players eager for both laughs and frights. Whether you’re watching the door, checking IDs, or hiding in the backroom while chaos unfolds, the game delivers a setting where danger can knock at any moment—and not all customers are what they seem.
