BLOODMONEY: Requiem

BLOODMONEY: Requiem is a psychological horror clicker and visual novel built around a simple financial problem. The protagonist needs $25,000 for an urgent operation and meets Harvey Harvington, who offers one dollar every time the player clicks on him. What begins as a harmless way to earn money gradually changes when the shop introduces tools that increase the value of each click at Harvey’s expense. The game includes a fully remade version of the original BLOODMONEY! scenario and a new Requiem campaign that continues the concept with additional story material.

Earning $25,000

The main loop takes place at Harvey’s roadside booth. Clicking directly earns money, while reaching certain amounts opens access to upgrades that can increase the payout from future interactions. The player must decide whether faster progress toward the medical bill is worth using increasingly harmful methods. Dialogue changes as the situation develops, so Harvey’s reactions become part of the story rather than the game functioning as a simple score-based clicker.

Tools, Choices, and Endings

Progress depends on which options the player buys and how far they are willing to continue. Important elements include:

·         clicking Harvey to earn money;

·         buying tools that increase the value of each interaction;

·         choosing whether to avoid more harmful upgrades;

·         watching Harvey’s appearance and dialogue change;

·         reaching the $25,000 target;

·         following different routes based on purchased items;

·         unlocking more than three possible endings;

·         entering the additional Requiem storyline after the remade original content.

The different endings make repeated playthroughs useful because reaching the money target does not always produce the same result.

Requiem Campaign

BLOODMONEY: Requiem does not use traditional numbered levels. Instead, it is divided into the remade original campaign and the new Requiem storyline. The second campaign expands the narrative surrounding Harvey and changes the context of repeated interactions, making previous actions and the idea of replaying the booth scenario part of the story itself.

Playing the game requires little mechanical complexity because most actions are performed with the mouse. The challenge comes from deciding how quickly to pursue the required amount and which upgrades to use along the way. A player can take a slower route and avoid certain tools or pursue larger payouts and reach darker outcomes. BLOODMONEY: Requiem therefore uses clicking, incremental upgrades, dialogue, and branching choices to connect the money-making mechanic directly to its horror story and multiple endings.
